Lui Hospital, the main healthcare provider in Greater Mundri, has received a crucial consignment of medical supplies from Samaritan’s Purse amid severe health challenges in the area.

The donation arrives at a critical time when the hospital has faced significant shortages of essential medications and unpaid staff incentives, as reported by local authorities.  These issues have strained the hospital’s ability to provide adequate care to the surrounding communities.

Hospital Administrator Hubert Mureni expressed profound gratitude for the timely support, “We are deeply thankful to Samaritan’s Purse for their unwavering commitment to our hospital.”

“This donation is not just a supply of medicines; it is a beacon of hope for our patients and staff alike,” he said

Samaritan’s Purse has a longstanding partnership with Lui Hospital, having first collaborated with the facility in 1997.

Their support has been instrumental in maintaining healthcare services in the region.

Community leaders, including Isaac Mangywa, Director of Success Faith-Based Organization, and Rev. Vasco Tadu, a member of the hospital board, have appealed for continued assistance.

“Our community is suffering and crying. We need Samaritan’s Purse to come back and help us. We are praying to God for their support,” they said.

“Lui Hospital is a historic hospital in the region and has long worked with Samaritan’s Purse.”

The recent donation follows lobbying efforts by local faith-based organizations, including SUCCESS and Hope Vision Ministry, who have been advocating for sustained support to the hospital.

Despite the challenges, the hospital remains a vital health center for the region, serving not only the people of Greater Mundri but also neighboring counties. 

The continued partnership with Samaritan’s Purse is crucial in ensuring the provision of essential healthcare services to these communities.
