The Minister of Cabinet Affairs in Upper Nile State, Hon. David Nyang, has resigned from his position, accusing the state’s leadership of entrenched corruption and ineffective governance.
In a resignation statement, Nyang said Governor Jacob Dollar Ruot had failed to provide effective leadership at a time when the state required stability and decisive action.
He pointed to persistent mismanagement, lack of transparency, and what he described as a failure to prioritise peace, security, and basic service delivery.

Nyang said his decision to step down was guided by conscience and a sense of responsibility to the people of Upper Nile State, who he noted continue to endure conflict, displacement, and deteriorating governance conditions.
The resignation represents a significant political development in Upper Nile State and comes amid mounting public criticism of the current administration.
Calls have intensified from citizens and political figures for accountable, inclusive, and people-centred leadership as the state seeks to restore peace and stability.
