A team of engineers and specialists from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday briefed the Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Simon Ober Mawut, on the progress of the installation of the Madhol Field Hospital.

The facility, which is being erected using containers, is to be operational by the second week of January 2025, engineers from the United Arab Emirates, who are supervising the project, said.

The project promises to deliver much needed medical care to the local community as well as employment to over 100 staff, 80% of whom will be locally recruited within NBGS.

The project is implemented by the Abu Dhabi-based Burjeel Hospital Holdings. 

Governor Mawut appreciated President Kiir and Dr. Benjamin Bol for sharing this initiative with the people of NBGS and acknowledged the importance of this critical facility towards improving health care services in the state.

In addition, the Governor assured the locals that the state government would supervise the construction company to ensure the project is completed on time, urging them to extend their hospitality to the UAE delegation during their stay in the area.

Last Monday, the Governor accompanied a team of engineers and medical specialists from the UAE to Madhol Payam, in Aweil East County, where they inspected the off-loading of equipment and materials for Madhol Field Hospital.

The erection of the facility using prefabs is to enable it serve the community for a period of two years as construction work on the main hospital building begins.
